Job Description

Practice pharmaceutical care in a wide variety of hospitals and clinics. From large teaching hospitals to small clinics to a 1,000-bed hospital ship. Get experience in drug information services, drug-use evaluations, sterile products, unit dose distribution, interventions, patient counseling, administration and much more.

Practicing Professionals
Get Help Repaying Educational Loans

There’s an alternative to spending years paying down the cost of your graduate education. If you’re currently a practicing professional, you can take advantage of an available $30,000 sign-on bonus and:

Navy Health Professions Loan Repayment Program — Receive up to $114,900 to help repay your graduate school loans by applying to receive $38,300 each year for up to three years.

To be eligible, you must serve as an Active Duty Medical Service Corps Officer for each year you receive the loan payment. A minimum three-year service obligation is required.

Qualifications

Besides requirements for Active Duty employment consideration in the Navy Medical Service Corps, there are additional requirements for Navy Pharmacy that apply.

Specific Requirements

  • Doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited college or university
  • Registration as a pharmacist in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia (licensure)

Preferred Requirements

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • GPA may vary with work experience (e.g., students with a low GPA [less than 2.8] who worked their way through college will receive the same consideration as applicants with a GPA of 3.2 or greater who did not work)
  • Work experience of two to three years
