Job Description:

Are you ready to join an ideal practice and serve an even greater good?

As a Navy Physician and an Officer in the Medical Corps, you’ll care for those who serve our country and their families, as well as contribute to humanitarian missions across the country and around the globe. You’ll do it with the skill that comes from advanced training and the backing of the most advanced equipment and facilities in the world. And you’ll do it without the paperwork and nonmedical hassles sometimes found in private practice.

Imagine treating victims of everything from sickness to combat, hurricanes to landslides, tsunamis to earthquakes. Lending your expertise to critical relief efforts with one of the only outreach corps capable of responding to the call.

You’ll utilize some of the most advanced technology on the planet. Work at top-notch military facilities on shore, at sea and in the field. Team with the best-trained medical professionals to make a measurable difference in the world.

In the Navy Medical Corps, you can expect ongoing, advanced training. And, unlike private practice, you won’t find exorbitant malpractice insurance, expensive equipment investments and high start-up costs.

  • are you a student?
100% of tuition coverage for medical school Don't let the high cost of medical school thwart your dream of becoming a doctor. The Navy has generous financial assistance programs available to help medical students – and will determine the offer that works best for you.
    • Consider the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP): It covers 100% of medical school tuition – along with a monthly stipend of $1,605 to cover living expenses for up to four years. And on top of that: a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.*

Consider the Navy Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP): It provides anywhere from $143,000 to $240,000 while attending medical school – including a monthly military salary plus generous food and housing allowances.† Not to mention comprehensive health-care benefits. Note that this specific offer is exclusive to the Navy and not available in other military service branches.

To learn more about the details of either offer, contact a Navy Medical Recruiter.

*Navy HPSP recipients who sign up before 9/30/08 are eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000. Contact your Navy Medical Recruiter for details.

UP TO $114,900 TO REPAY STUDENT LOANS There's no reason to be overwhelmed by the cost of your education. As an Active Duty Officer in the Medical Corps, you can get up to $114,900 to repay your medical school loans by applying to receive $38,300 each year for up to three years.
